Macarons
Today, I'm going to share one of my favorite recipes for Macarons. It could be hard, but keep practicing and you'll get the perfect macarons!
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups of powedered sugar
- 1 cup almond flour, finely ground
- 1 teaspoon of salt, divided
- 3 egg whites, at room temperature
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 drops of any gel food coloring
Directions
- In the bowl of food processor, combine the powdered sugar, almond flour, and the 1/2 of salt. If you don't have a processor, just sift it until it is extra fine
- In a seperate bowl, beat the egg whites and the remaining salt until the peaks form. Add sugar little by little
- Add the vanilla and the coloring and keep beating.
- Add about 1/3 of the sifted almond flour mixture at a time to the beaten egg whites and use a spatula to gently fold it until combined. The batter should be able to create a figure 8
- Transfer the batter into the piping bag and squeeze it so it is a size of a coin. Pat the tray down and put it on the oven.
- After it comes out of the oven, let it sit in room temperature for 30 minutes-1 hour and touch it when it's dry.
- Then make the cream and voila! You have the perfect macarons.
